CASHBOT.AI/EYELEVEL.AI
ROLE: Research, Strategy, UX, UI
Cashbot.ai was born from a real-world problem experienced by the founders: how can a chatbot developer make money from a popular chatbot?
We created a working demo, had users, and were accepted in the UC Berkeley Skydeck Program. We spent our time building the entire platform from back to front, with the vision to create a delightful experience that could support any level of chatbot developer.
In the initial version of Cashbot, developers could make money through the Amazon affiliate program by choosing products that would appear in their chat at pre-determined steps in the flow. We thought we had the opportunity to expand to allow developers and advertisers to partner through an automated, AI-driven system for ad placement.
Questions we wished to answer:
Can we increase the number of active users by 100%?
Can we decrease the number of support emails by 50%?
Considerations:
We already had developers using the platform that would need to transitioned to the new experience.
We were going to have to support a dual marketplace of developers and advertisers.
The first step was to analyze the current site problems, research the chatbot developer community and flesh out the personas. We also started exploring the appetite for advertising in this new space. I had hired a small team of interns to help with the design implementation.
Process
Analysis of the demo site experience showed us where users abandoned account creation. The he sign up process and dashboard were two pieces of the experience identified as opportunities for improvement, along with new features for account management.
After confirming that advertisers were interested in chatbot audiences, we added an AI-driven agent option that would allow the developer to create a chatbot profile that could connect them with advertising. This version of the website was launched in less than 3 months.
Anticipating the need for an advertiser portal, I directed a more sophisticated approach to the UI in in the second version of the website. We added more robust features, included a tagging system and bot management. I created email nurturing campaigns for the developers and designed sales assets so advertisers could imagine their brands in this new context.
